St. John Paul II Center for International Studies
A Private Institution of Higher Education
About Us
The St. John Paul II Center for International Studies is a university institution of higher education aimed at promoting quality education based on Catholic Christian values. Founded in October 2025 by Haitian Catholic priests, it seeks to provide Master's and Doctoral programs in International Law, Diplomacy and International Relations, Political Science, Foreign Policy, and International Development.
Catholic Education: The Importance of Forming Hearts, Minds, and Consciences
In the educational landscape, the educational principles of Catholic education play a primary role in the formation of students. Rooted in Catholic values, these programs will emphasize the holistic development of the individual. These educational values are those of Faith, Hope and Charity. These core values such as faith, hope and charity are at the heart of the programs. They promote a personal ethic as well as a positive and optimistic vision of the future. Catholic Christian education will lead students to become active and responsible members of society, cultivating a deep sense of respect and compassion for others. It is a necessity for our time to transmit positive values for the transformation of citizens' consciences for the recovery of our society and our world. Educating is an act of hope, which is why the Catholic Church, which shines throughout the world in the transmission of knowledge and values, wants to invest in the formation of new generations for the recovery of our society and the world.
Objectives
Aware of the fragility of the Haitian education system and the scarcity of university executives due to the forced immigration of the Haitian intelligentsia, many Catholic priests who are experts in diverse fields, each with one or two doctorates, want to work for the recovery of Haiti. This e-Learning Platform will provide students with acceptable tools to compete on the international scene. Its goal is to offer quality higher education and research to a wide audience, allowing students from all backgrounds, including those far from training centers, to overcome time, distance or funding constraints to achieve their academic and professional goals. Together with other national and international professors to strengthen the priests' staff, our students will have the privilege of participating in international academic forums and other multidisciplinary research centers.
Why Distance Education?
This academic training will be effective on a high-end technological platform with technicians and professors who will be available to teach the subjects assigned to them. It is to target a denser audience across the country and around the world, with flexible class schedules, seminars, academic forums, workshops and discussion classes between students, that this teaching model, which is applied in all the world's major universities, is offered to young academicians and researchers. It is only up to students to have access to efficient internet to connect to the various courses and download documents and continue their research at the desired times and times.
A Word from the Rector
To students, faculty and staff
With words full of gratitude and benevolence, I would like to extend a most cordial welcome to Saint John Paul II University. Your presence, participation and contribution to the birth, emergence and establishment of this university structure of public utility, and recognized as a dynamic institution, made of high technological ranges and pedagogical innovation, nourished by an efficient academic structure and quality higher education, with professors of great skills and academic experience, are of immeasurable value. This university campus is created with
the aim of offering its service to Haitian society, with an openness to the academic world in general, to meet the needs of the Haitian intelligentsia and other citizens of the world, in search of meaning, values and opportunities for their own development. From specialized studies in Social Sciences, whether in International Law, Political Science, Foreign Policy, International Development, Diplomacy and International Relations, at the Master's and PhD levels, our university aims to remove its students from effective academic tools to meet their expectations in a changing and turbulent world, in order to be able to meet the many challenges that await them, and to be able to compete more in these different fields on the international scene.
Our goal is to equip our students with effective intellectual knowledge based on moral, Christian and human values, so that they in turn can meet the expectations of their respective countries and the world, in search of political and social stability, economic recovery and rehabilitation, progress and sustainable development. Our world is in great need of new leaders, in all fields, so that they are equipped with new visions, new knowledge and skills, and to better orient their decisions on values that take into account human dignity and the rights of citizens to life and liberty. The socio-political upheavals, based on totalitarian tendencies, contemptuous of the humanity of the man and woman of our world, give us the right to develop new pedagogical methods that will take into account the reality of the man and woman of our world and our time, in order to promote better living conditions for those who have suffered so much from a world that advocates racism. injustice and inequality. This is why we believe that our contribution in the field of education will promote the emergence of new societies, thanks to new intellectual elites who will come from our various faculties and our academic world in general.
